Is it 5w20 they're using in imploding 1.0 litre turbocharged engines?

Yes, I believe they use 5w20 in the 1.0T Ecoboost. Although from the photo's I've seen of heads melting inside the ports I'd say it was poor head design and/or incapable cooling system.
Makers don't always get it right, and there have been many instances of service requirements being revised when failures have shown the original recommends didn't give a respectable service life.
Careful now GB, You'll have one or two of the backroomers blood pressure increasing with talk like that. :-)
