2017 mk3 Focus RS or 2017 mk7.5 Golf R? - Finguz

Which car do you think will have depreciated the least after 5 years? For what it's worth, my money is on the Golf.

If you were comparing a Focus ST and a Golf GTi I'd agree but RS Fords tend to hold their money rather well and are sold in limited numbers. It's also the better drivers car.

I've heard many a bar room debate about these two. I've a friend with an RS and two others who own Golf R's. Having driven them both I'd favour the RS as a driving tool but the R is an excellent machine and much more comfortable and refined.

I would ordinarily be in agreement ( I love the way the RS drives too - far more entertaining than the Golf R ), however Ford are likely going to be selling a lot more of the mk3's than the previous generations, and I feel that this is going to have an adverse effect on their future value.

Time will tell of course.
