Just to add to RTs comments. If a prospective car has had the emissions fix go carefully because a lot of cars are having problems after it. Poor mpg, DPF and EGR valve, more engine noise ect.

Do your homework and drive it plenty before signing If it from a VW dealer make sure they dont do the fix after a test drive but befor you pick it up. Sneeky Bs

Good advice - but not applicable to Touareg as it's diesels are V6, V8 or V10 - recent ones using Adblue.

VW got into bother by not using Adblue on the 4-cylinder "cheaper" models - it's those needing "fixes" which are creating subsequenr issues.

Sorry I seem to keep contradicting you RT. I dont mean to. A number of cars that use Adblue under EURO5 are still needing fixed. I have one, its a Sharan and some later Passates and Tiguans are the same. At first I thought I was unaffected because of the Adblue but when I put my vin to the VW sit I was told it needed fixed. Have since learned they push the fuel pressure up a good bit needing a fuel injector danper and increase the use of Adblue, ( you get free Adblue) as well as the remap. The Adblue may mean the effect of the fix is less drastic than in others but Im staying well clear till I know for sure.

I never mind being contradicted with accurate information - my main point was that the larger TDi engines in Touareg aren't being recalled for fixes in Europe - they still can't be sold in North America though.

My Euro 6 Touareg 3.0 TDi uses Adblue at the rate of 1.67% of the diesel used (my figures) - what rate does your Sharan use it?
