Its been years since i used them so can't personally recommend, but Northampton Diesel and Electrical Services might be worth a look, down in Jimmy's End so very local, they have a proper website too and offer repair/rebuild service on starters alternators etc.

Subsequently they were in Millbrook Close (off Harvey Reeves Road) but those premises were empty when I wanted them to look at my Berlingo two years ago.

I think they're only in Kettering now.

Lordy, is nothing sacred, when they were opposite where Sainsbury is now they were THE Diesel workshops to go to, they tweaked lorries we needed more guts for tip work on years ago in minutes that the Wellingborough Diesel shop failed miserably after a whole day faffing about with, that's how i first got to know of them, they did several excellent jobs for me over the years.

Thanks Bromp, i shall have to have a poke nose at the Kettering branch then for future reference, i like to already have good places pencilled in not wait till something goes wrong before looking for workshops.
