Edd China is a total genius no doubt, but i have to say, i got fed up of wheeler dealer some time ago. The problem for me is Mike Brewer. I can put up with him in small doses, but mostly i find him deeply irratating. He seems to milk the 'cheeky chirpy cockney' act to death. Most of the 'haggling' appears to have been scripted (and badly acted out), and at various points through the show, he will mention about the work 'him' and Edd have done to the car. When in fact, he hasnt done anything other than some 'on screen' obtaining of parts, which in most cases, Edd could have got with a phone call.
Car SOS was mentioned, and yes, that is another show which irritates the hell out of me, much as i like Fuzz. As with wheeler dealers, it is 'the other guy' which is the problem, specifically the ridiculous pantomine Tim goes through getting parts or services. The show producers must think the viewers are really thick (or are children) to find that convincing or entertaining. And why is there always a time limit?. If the car has been sitting derelict in a barn or shed for 20 years, why does it then have to be finished in a few weeks?. Also, i think Tim must get a bonus if he gets a particularly emotional reaction at the end, after the car has been handed over, the way he goes on and on and asking how the car owner is feeling, and is it going to make their life better.
