Peugeot 207 CC 1.6 petrol, 57 reg. - Engine light plus judder - golfauto11

Can anybody help me regarding engine light on, and car juddering? ? Bought this car about 6 weeks ago,. I took it back twice with the engine and depolution lights on. The first time, they ran some fluid through which cured it for 2 days, then they replaced the timing chain, which cured it for a week. Now, just the engine light is on, and the car judders, and stalls sometimes. The staff at the garage have now changed, claim they know nothing about this problem. Any ideas what could be wrong?? Thanks!!

If the engine fault light is on,then there should be some fault(s) logged on the engine control system which could help in the diagnostic procedure. .

Is this the turbo engine? If so, sorry, but it's a disaster zone - makes the 1.6 HDi look almost a paragon of reliability! Best thing you can do it get shot of it (probably why it was chopped in in the first place). It probably needs the inlet valves cleaning by walnut shell blasting - costs £300 or so at an independent. There are also problems with the crankcase ventilation valves (which in part leads to the gumming up of the inlet valves).

I don't think it is the turbo engine, but I will check that out. Thanks.
