Mitsubishi Galant - Ignition module location - Daniel Chapman

Hi, I can't locate the ignition module in my galant 2.5 V6 2001. It's driving me insane!

Please help...

I lost spark so checked distributor cap and rotor which turned out to be in desperate need of replacing. Having replaced both cap and rotor the spark returned but very weak. I've been told the likely cause is a faulty ignition module, so after stripping everything back to find the module it turns out that I can't find it. Been looking for dates and can't find any useful information online.

It's not, I've taken the distributor to pieces.

Well due to the high current they did have inernal/external heat sink so they usually were bolted to a large chunk off alloy to dissapate heat.

Sorry but I can't be more helpful than that.

Have you tried local Mitsubishi dealer?
