c max 1.8 petrol 2004 alternator 3 pin plug - johnkent

Can you buy this seperately or even this part of the loom ?

As the blue wire in looks twisted and is probably broken inside

Cheers

It 'looks' twisted, so it's 'probably' broken inside.

There's a phrase for what you're doing, it's called 'parts bingo'.

Basically, it involves randomly replacing parts until BINGO !, you fix the problem.

Instead, getting a proper auto electrician to have a look at it would be money wisely spent.

For 5.99 its worth a go for another plug

The cars charging at 14.1 volts with everything on and running , new battery on it, new aux belt , no fuses blown

Aparently if a very common fault on the c max

if it fixes it i'll be very happy

Heres the link for the plug in case anyone else needs one

update

Isnt the 3 pin plug ive stripped the loom back as far as i can tested for continuity all ok on all wires, no breaks either tested the voltage on the main cable all ok same as battery voltage, tested voltage on pin same all ok

Cleaned all earth contacts

Changed smart charge fuse with new 10a all ok

Still the light comes up

Have not got a clue what else to check

just thinking ...

something drew your attention to the wires....
if the wire is faulty , it can read perfect sometimes,
and went bent the other way, it'll read faulty.
the break and the frayed wires could touch when in a certain position, and not in another..

might be worth doing continuity check while rotating the wire up and down, and around a bit.

I've seen similar when fixing electrical things...
