525d tourer - bmw e39 suspension self leveling light on - xlcelt

Hi everyone, my 2002 estate dash light for the sls has come on but the suspension seems to work ok, the compressor works, the arms on the sensors are both attached, if i stand on the tow hitch the car rises and when i get off it lowers,both sides look level so not sure why the light is on.any help much appreciated

Hopefully there will be some fault logged in the sls control unit memory to give you an indication as to problem area.

unfortunately i don't have a reader but today the light went out on a drive but when i got back home it came on again and i noticed the right hand side was up to its max and the left looked normal, i'm guessing it could be the right hand sensor
