When I connect my smartphone to the car via bluetooth, music on the phone starts playing automatically through the car audio suystem as soon as it is connected. It usually plays the last music that I played on the phone.

I have tried everything I can think of on the phone - shutting down the music app, emptying the queue etc. There appears nothing on the car system that I can set to stop it.

I find this incredibly annoying, and even dangerous at times, when it starts playing just after I have set off, and I have to start fiddling with the system to stop it.

Does anyone else have this problem on the Jazz or any other car, and have you found a way of stopping it. I have tried a couple of Android apps which are supposed to help, but at best these work inconsistently. I'm tempted to just delet all the music on my phone!

the music is transfered to the info system so you can do what you want to the phone but it wont help,apart from turning phone off, if you check the manual it should tel you what or how to get the controls on screen

I`m not sure what system you have, ie is it the same as the Civic? as I recall last year they put the 6.2 inch display unit in it but correct me if wrong

If you havent got the manual its downloadable from Honda

I had this problem too - my phone is an android (Moto X-Style) and in one of the media players I used, there was an option to stop playing music when headphones were disconnected, resume when connected. This included bluetooth. Once I unticked this option, the problem went away.

On occasion however, when I start the car, the last media player I had on (usually BBC Radio App) will reconnect and begin to play. Has given me a fright on more than one occasion when a voice suddenly begins to speak to me in an empty car - usually there is about a 30 second delay between starting up and the app kicking in.

Son phoned me from the his 2015 M3 at 8pm tonight.

In the background the blutooth was playing the football commentary at the same time as I was trying to listen to him.

We gave up as it was too difficult to understand.

Many thanks for the replies. I'm convinced the problem comes from the car rather than the phone. I loaded an an Android app (Bluetooth Connect Stop Play) to the phone (Samsung A3) which is supposed to send a pause if the car tells it to play music. Unfortunately it only works intermittently!

What idiots write car software like this?

Does stereo have a source button eh radio blue tooth CD? My aftermarket alpine has this as dues my wife's 14 ref focus. Won't post music unless you press Bluetooth function?

I have the bluetooth on the car activated so I can use the phone hands free, and also have the satnav app on the phone through the car system.
