Thanks for the update, nasty on such a new car.

This is exactly why some of us prattle on about brake servicing, there is no way on earth that caliper or its slider should have seized in 3 or near enough 3 years, proof absolute if any were needed the main dealers are not doing their job, properly serviced brake calipers last a lifetime, the originals ones on my 21 year old Merc operate as good as new, simply because they've been serviced, looked after and lubed, same on our 14/15 year old Outback which sailed through its MOT an hour ago.

Before you get this done, presumably out of your own pocket being a local garage, assuming you've had the car serviced when reqd at the main dealer from new i'd be having a pop at them and asking what they intend to do about it, a properly serviced car as new as your this happening is frankly ridiculous.

In wider terms, its high time all makers required their dealers to service brakes properly at least on major services, or came up with better designed calipers if just peering at the things is what they call servicing.

Oh and yes while doing this it does make sense to change the fluid...if Honda arn't going to offer any goodwill i would get a good indy to fit quality pattern parts here (OE will be eye watering cost as will dealer labour), change the fluid and lube up all the other calipers...if its still under makers warranty the maker or its dealer should be stumping up here anyway IMHO.

I'd be interested to see what the quote would be at the typical Honda dealer for supply and fit of those parts.

A quick browse shows Mintex/Apex rear discs and pads for around £50/60 all incl delivered so yes, even with Cox's deal i still say eye watering.
