2014 is to be another bumper year for new cars, with some of the most recognisable names getting refreshed, all-new models. New from the ground up and built using Mazda’s Skyactiv technology - which seeks to improve efficiency through a combination of reduced weight as well as new technology - the Mazda3 is available as a hatchback and a saloon. It is launched with a choice of two petrol engines and one diesel. One petrol and one diesel are carried over from the Mazda6, which makes us think that 2.2-litre could leave room for a super-efficient smaller capacity diesel in the future.
