I need to disconnect my car's battery to do some work - how do I reset the radio code afterwards?

"I want to disconnect the battery of my Vauxhall Tigra to carry out some work but I do not have the code for the factory fitted radio. How do I reset the radio code once battery is reconnected?"
You may want to just use something like a 9V memory saver (it plugs into the cigarette lighter) or, if you have a booster pack, you could also use that. You could also purchase a small 9V battery, attach two leads and then connect to your battery leads before disconnecting. If none of the above are suitable then there are quite a few sites that will (for a price) give you your code from the 14 digit serial number on the radio.

Why is my Vauxhall Tigra leaking water in the boot?

"I have a 2006 plate Vauxhall Tigra, which is leaking water in the boot. Any ideas why this has happening?"
Yes. Sometimes through the doors. But also suffers the same bulkhead cracking as the Corsa C: http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/vauxhall/tigra-2004/?section=good

Why does my Vauxhall Tigra show three previous owners when it should have had two?

"In late May I decided to purchase a used Vauxhall Tigra from a Vauxhall dealership. I took receipt of it on 1 June. During the purchase discussions my wife and I were told on several occasions that the car had two previous owners and unfortunately the log book had been mislaid. I paid £5500. It took almost one month for the V5C to come from the DVLA and the first thing I noticed was that I was the fourth owner, when I should have been the third owner. I immediately took this up with the dealership. Eventually the DVLA sent me the car’s history. First registered keeper: New Car Plan, c/o ‘AT’. Second registered keeper: New Car Plan. Third registered keeper: ‘MNK’. Fourth registered keeper: me. I asked for a cash discount of over £1000, which was turned down. I have been given one year's further warranty and one service free in one year's time. I still think I have been ripped off. What can I do please?"
The car must have been on a lease or a PCP. New Car Plan was the first owner, but sensibly nominated ‘AT’ as the 'keeper' because she was the user of the car and any speeding or parking tickets would then come directly to her. That makes two "previous owners" before the one on the V5C when you bought the car.

Vauxhall Tigra leaking water every time it rains

"We have a 2005 Vauxhall Tigra, which has done 30,000 miles and suffered no accidents. However, every time it rains, the car’s footwell fills with water. My local Vauxhall garage says the pedal box is letting in water and it will cost £600 to repair. This seems a very large sum for fixing a rainwater problem. Is this something this model suffers from and is £600 a fair price for fixing the leak? "
Yes. A design problem shared with the Corsa. See the Corsa entry in http://www.hoenstjohn.co.uk/carbycar
