Citroen e-C4 revealed

The all-electric e-C4 can cover 217 miles on a single charge according to WLTP tests. It features a 136PS electric motor with 260Nm of torque and a 50kWh battery, which can support 100kW rapid charging. It has a 0-62mph time of 9.7sec and a top speed of 93mph.

Using a 100kW fast charger, the battery in the electric C4 can be recharged to 80 per cent in 30 minutes. At home, using a 32A Wallbox, recharging takes 7.5 hours with single-phase supply or five hours with three-phase supply and an optional 11 kW on-board charger. Charging can be controlled via smartphone, with ë-C4 owners able to schedule it.

The e-C4 is expected to cost around £30,000.

Citroen e-C4 priced from £29,180

Orders are now open for the Citroen e-C4 with prices starting from £29,180 (after the Plug-in Car Grant) and deliveres from early 2021.

All new e-C4 models feature a 50kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 100kW (136PS) electric motor. With a WLTP-approved range of up to 217 miles on a single charge, the new e-C4 will exceed the daily range requirements of most private and fleet drivers. Supporting CCS rapid charging as standard on all models, an 80% charge will take just 30 minutes on a 100 kW rapid charger. For regular home charging a Type 2 charging cable is included as standard, allowing a regular 7.4kW charger to reach a 100% charge in seven hours and 30 minutes.

The new e-C4 is available in three trim levels: ‘Sense Plus’, ‘Shine’ and ‘Shine Plus’.

Standard equipment on ‘Sense Plus’ models include head-up display, Citroën Connect Nav with TomTom Live Services, these services include live traffic and destination information, fuel pricing, weather information as well as speed camera and danger zone alerts. Additional interior equipment on ‘Sense Plus’ includes the brand’s innovative Smart Pad Support Citroën™ tablet computer holder for front seat passengers, LED interior lighting, electrochrome auto-dimming rear-view mirror and two USB sockets. To assist with manoeuvring tight spots, ‘Sense Plus’ also benefits from a rear parking camera and electrically folding door mirrors as standard fitment.

Moving up to the ‘Shine’ trim level, all versions feature: dark tinted rear windows, Safety Pack Plus (Active Safety Brake with video and radar technology), Speed Limit Information and Extended Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control and Active Blind Spot Detection. For additional comfort, Keyless Entry & Start, automatic high beam headlights, and front and rear parking sensors all feature as standard. New ë-C4 ‘Shine’ models and upwards feature a heated steering wheel as standard.

At the top of the range, ‘Shine Plus’ trim provides audiophiles with Citroën’s premium HiFi system featuring uprated speakers and the addition of a subwoofer, all as standard. The feeling of opulence on board is enhanced with a ‘Hype Black’ interior ambiance, black ‘Siena’ leather and textile upholstery, intricate ‘Zephyr Grey’ stitching, driver’s seat electric adjustment and heated front seats. For added comfort out on the road, Highway Driver Assist uses camera technology to adapt the speed and direction of the vehicle under certain driving conditions. Further technological additions include four USB sockets and a wireless smartphone charging pad.

Top-spec Citroen e-C4 models given price cut

Citroen UK has announced the all new e-C4 models in the UK will continue to attract the Government’s Plug In Car Grant of £2500 and in addition the brand has also announced a £550 pricing reduction on the best-selling ‘Shine Plus’ specification to allow customers to continue to benefit from the Government grant.

On the road New ë-C4 pricing including PICG ranges from £30,895 to £32,495. In addition to the Fair Pricing, all new Citroën ë-C4 models come very well appointed, with the following equipment as standard; LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, 10-inch high-resolution touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto, Citroën Connect Nav with TomTom Live Services, Active Safety Brake, Lane Keeping Assist, electric parking brake, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, electrically folding door mirrors, dual-zone climate control and Citroën Connect Box Emergency and Assistance System. For improved comfort, all models come with Citroën’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushions® suspension system and Advanced Comfort seats.

Available with a choice of three trim levels, ‘Sense Plus’, ‘Shine’ and ‘Shine Plus’, with all models coming-in under the £35,000 threshold to qualify for the PICG. Citroen e-C4 updated for 2022

Citroen UK has introduced a number of updates for the e-C4 for 2022, effective from October 2021 production. As part of the changes, through a series of technical enhancements, the e-C4 Electric receives improvements in driving efficiency, enhancing real world vehicle range under a variety of driving conditions. WLTP certified range remains at 217 miles from the 50KWh Lithium-ion traction battery.

Further changes see the introduction of the innovative Citroën Smart Pad Support™ to the entry-level ‘Sense’ trim, ensuring that all customers can enjoy this feature as standard right across the range. Included with the support is a universal electronic tablet holder, designed to hold a variety of tablet computers. For optimum safety, the tablet holder also includes a screen filter that ensures the picture on the screen is not visible to the driver at any time. For added peace-of-mind, the passenger airbag in the e-C4 Electric has been designed to deploy over the top of the Citroen Smart Pad Support™ in the event of an accident.

Revised Citroen e-C4 line-up priced from £28,495

The 2022 New ë-C4 range now includes ‘Sense’, ‘Shine Edition’ and ‘Shine Plus’ models, with the ‘Sense Plus’ trim no longer being offered.

‘Sense’ is an all-new version within the New ë-C4 Electric range for 2022, with prices starting at MRRP OTR £29,995. As it is eligible for the OZEV Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG), this results in an OTR price of just £28,495 after grant is applied, offering a genuinely accessible entry point to the world of 100%-electric motoring.

New ë-C4 Electric ‘Sense’ trim features a wealth of standard specification, with LED headlights, 18-inch ‘Crosslight’ alloy wheels, power folding mirrors, rear parking sensors and Keyless Entry & Start all featuring. A suite of safety equipment is also included as standard, including Active Safety Brake (video assisted), Speed Limit Information, Lane Keeping Assist and Forward Collision Warning.

Inside, infotainment is provided via a 10-inch touchscreen, featuring Bluetooth® telephone and audio streaming, DAB digital radio, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto. The front passenger also benefits from Citroën Smart Pad Support™, which provides an integrated mount for tablet devices without distracting the driver. From a comfort perspective, New ë-C4 ‘Sense’ has owners completely covered, with Citroën Advanced Comfort® suspension and Advanced Comfort®, seats, as well as dual zone climate control all featuring as standard.

Another addition to the New ë-C4 Electric UK range is the ‘Shine Edition’. This replaces the outgoing ‘Shine’ trim level and offers the same generous level of specification at an OTR price of £30,495 (after PiCG). ‘Shine Edition’ enjoys further safety and convenience features over and above ‘Sense’ models, including a head-up display, Active Cruise Control, Active Blind Spot Detection and the Safety Plus Pack. The latter includes Extended Traffic Sign Recognition and Active Safety Brake (video and radar assisted), with night-time and cyclist detection.

‘Shine Edition’ models also benefit from Citroën Connect Nav (with a free, three-year subscription to real time traffic updates), front and rear parking sensors, colour reversing camera, heated steering wheel and a two position boot floor.

The current best-seller in the New ë-C4 Electric range in the UK – the ‘Shine Plus’ trim – remains in place at the top of the range. ‘Shine Plus’ models add wireless smartphone charging, a HiFi speaker system with subwoofer, heated front seats and a ‘Hype Black’ interior ambience featuring black ‘Siena’ leather and black leather-effect textile seats with ‘Zephyr Grey’ stitching.

All these updates to the New ë-C4 Electric range are effective from today (Tuesday 11 January). They follow the changes already made from October 2021 production, which further improve the efficiency of all New ë-C4 Electric models. Changes have been made to both the heat pump and transmission system, with the biggest improvements seen in terms of real world use, with a range that can be increased by nearly 18 miles depending on usage conditions (outside temperature, type of roads, driving mode, etc.). These changes add yet more versatility and further peace-of-mind for everyday use and longer journeys.

Citroen e-C4 C-Series Edition priced from £30,495

The ‘C-Series Edition’ on the ë-C4 Electric features subtle visual elements to make the cars stand out on the road. The Anodised Bronze Colour Pack adds bronze surrounds to the fog lights and on the Airbump® panels, with bronze ‘C-Series Edition’ badges on the wings. The all-electric ë-C4 ‘C-Series Edition’ comes with 18-inch diamond-cut ‘Crosslight’ alloy wheels.

Inside, ë-C4 Electric ‘C-Series Edition’ models come equipped with Citroën’s quality HiFi system and a 10-inch touchscreen, equipped with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto, as well as DAB digital radio, Bluetooth® connectivity and Citroën Connect Nav with ‘Real-Time Traffic’ and speed camera updates. Owners of C4 and ë-C4 Electric ‘C-Series Edition’ models will also enjoy the comfort of the heated leather steering wheel and the heated front seats.
