Replacing a car lamp

A friend was called by his daughter to replace a failed indicator lamp on her car. Having visited Halfords to purchase the lamp he found they would replace it for £3.99; let them do it was the easy option....

2008 Astra sidelight not working

Can any one help, i've replaced the bulb... nothing, I've checked the connector plug and that's fine still nothing, all the other sidelights work. Can anyone give any pointers on what it could be?
