Why do hybrids do a very small distance on just electric power compared to electric cars?

A 24Kw Nissan Leaf will do about 95 miles. Why does the 32Kw Hyundai Ioniq only do a very small distance on electric power only?

Plug-in Hybrids have smaller batteries and thereby a shorter purely electric range. But they recharge their hybrid batteries as they go along. Therefore, totally electric driven on a 200 mile journey, for example, might be 50 - 100 miles.
