Advise your insurer you dispute the valuation and you wish to raise a complaint - "an expression of dissatisfaction" is the appropriate wording. Ask the insurer for a "full engineers version of their audatex report" if the car was inspected. Very important you use the exact wording I have used. These both should show how your vehicle has been valued, and the tools used to do it. Ask for a copy of the tool they have used to value your vehicle, i.e. Glass Evaluater or CAP research. If there is a difference between the retail transacted figure from these guides, to what you have been offered, ask the insurer to justify why.

You then need to obtain your own values and provide research to substantiate why your vehicle is worth more. You may indeed find the value they are offering is realistic, always make sure you are being realistic yourself. But if not, you can now stand your ground based on the evidence you have. If you are still not happy, then escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service, you can do that here: www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints...m
