Should we trade in our diesel car for a petrol model?

We've been happy with our diesel Kia Cee'd since purchase in November 2014, but wonder if we should be looking to change to a petrol version in 2018. We don't really do the miles for a diesel and our round trips will be between 20-30 miles, with occasional forays of over 100 miles one way. We like the car very much, along with the bells and whistles - but what do you think?

The values of all diesels have already plummeted so you might as well hang on to it for the time being.
