Is it wise to invest in a hybrid car when the battery technology is advancing so quickly?

I'm looking at buying a Kia Niro or Hyundai Ionic. However, I wonder if it's wise to buy a hybrid at present because any major development in battery technology will reduce resale value considerably. What is your view?

I wouldn't worry about graphite batteries just yet. If you constantly worry about future advances in technology you'd still be using smoke signals instead of your smartphone.
