My friend's premium increased after he reported a fraudulent claim - how do we proceed?

My friend returned to his car to find a note saying he had damaged another car in supermarket car park. This was not true, there was no incident. He now finds his premium has gone up as he reported an incident. They state he informed them his car was damaged. He did not, the car has never been damaged. English is not his first language and it can only be assumed there was a misunderstanding. How can he proceed?

He needs to contact his insurer and raise a complaint, then complain to the Financial Ombudsman service. Make it clear that he feels this is a fraudulent claim.
