How do I make a Jersey-registered car UK legal?

My nephew is getting a 12-year-old Peugeot 309, which was first registered in Jersey. What do I do to make it UK legal?

There should be no VAT to pay, but you do need to re-register the car in the UK, so it will need to be MoT'd and you will have to pay a first registration tax.
