How can I soften the ride in my BMW X1?
I have a 2017 BMW X1 on 18-inch, non-run flat tires and x-line suspension. I recently started to develop a back pain and driving the car is making it worse. This car is obviously not for those with a weak back. I'm thinking of downsizing my tires to 17-inch, though not 100 per cent sure if they fit.

Assuming it's a 2.0 litre engine, you can fit 17-inch wheels with Michelin Cross Climate 225/55 R17 101W XL tyres and they will improve the ride quality, quietness and steering feel considerably as well as making the car much more capable in heavy rain, snow and mud.
