Should I get the 2.0 petrol or 2.5 diesel Jaguar F-Pace?

I'm undecided whether to buy a petrol Jaguar F-Pace 2.5 T R-Sport or a 2.0 diesel AWD180 auto (which we have tried and is adequate). The 2.5 petrol is £3130 list more than the 2.0d. The petrol has urban real world, I estimate, of 23mpg and the diesel 34 mpg. We do 6000 miles, mainly short trips around town. The Jaguar dealer says if we do two trips per month, minimum 20 miles each at 50mph plus, that will be sufficient to keep the DPF healthy. We usually keep a car a minimum of four years. Looking at Autotrader, there are very few 3.0-litre petrols for sale, most are 3.0d. I would use Shell premium fuels whenever I can. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated.

Ingenium diesels use AdBlue, which you add yourself via a separate filler. JLR even quotes expected AdBlue usage. And I've yet to hear of any EGR/DPF trouble with the Ingenium diesel. The reason why the petrol is so much more expensive is EC corporate average CO2 fines imposed on car manufacturers. Using diesels, JLR scrapes through. But the more petrols it sells the bigger the fines become, so the higher price is partly to discourage sales of petrol engines and partly to meet the EC fines.
