A car claims I drove into them when I was parked - how will this pan out?

I parked (engine off) in a lay-by to the side of a main road to drop off my passenger, who's 77 years old. I turned to the side to say goodbye, when he shouted to look out and I saw a car reversing at speed. The vehicle hit the front near side and scraped along the side to the back wheel arch. The damage was not flush to the front of my car as he was doing a big sweeping reverse to get back onto the main road. He claims I drove into him. There were no witnesses apart from my passenger. I have ongoing genuine injuries and am upset by being accused of negligence and also receiving a police notice of intended prosecution. I feel this guy is throwing everything at me but I've done nothing wrong. He didn't note my registration number at the scene (I had to send him my insurance details by text the next day as I was so in shock I just couldn't remember at the scene). When I sent him the details he then asked for my car make and reg number. Legal insurance lawyer has all the details. How do you think this will pan out?

This is where dash cams are worth their weight in gold. Contact your insurer as well as the legal insurance lawyer and advice you feel you are a victim of fraud. Also Contact www.actionfraud.police.uk/ and www.cityoflondon.police.uk/advice-and-support/frau...x

Make sure you claim for personal injuries that you have sustained. This means your insurer cannot accept any liability on your behalf without your consent as it would prejudice your lawful entitlement. It's quite common for fraudster to look for vulnerable people, in this situation always ring the police. Even if you do not have injuries, advise them that your feel intimidated and threatened and they will attend. Do the above, continue doing what your doing, and if you get stuck come back to us.
