I do 6000 - 7000 miles annually, should I buy a petrol or hybrid Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

I'm thinking of changing my 2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 CDI for an E400 petrol or an E300 hybrid. I drive 6000 - 7000 miles annually, normally 20 mile journeys with occasional European trips. What is your opinion?

For that sort of annual mileage better petrol hybrid. Even if you move a diesel on in 3 - 4 years before the emissions kit starts giving trouble, you are likely to see a heavy drop in residual value as restrictions increase and private buyers turn away from diesel.
