Do ex-management cars go through dealer multi-point checks?
When buying an ex-management car I'm told that they go through multi-point checks by the manufacturer. How true is this? I tried to buy a one year old Mercedes-Benz from a dealer and found it had a flat rear tyre, all four valve caps missing and a severe vibration at the front which I was told was due to presumably new tyres not being balanced. I backed away.

If it's a Ford Direct car it does. Can't say for other manufacturers. I've never heard of any of the other manufacturers calling their cars back to a special facility to check them over. Usually it's a dealer inspection that can be very cursory, as you discovered.
