Is it OK to use a different size spare wheel in an emergency?

Just bought a Land Rover Discovery 3 (2007) fitted with 18 inch tyres. However the spare is a 19 inch space saver. Is it OK to use this in an emergency and without causing any damage to the car?

In an emergency, yes. Not to drive regularly in place of a normal size tyre. The shrinking spares on LandRover products is comparatively recent.
