Toyota Aygo gearbox problems

I bought a 2009 Toyota Aygo from a dealer six months ago. After the warranty for the car ended I began having problems. About a month ago the car wouldn't enter first gear, unless completely stationary. I took it to a main dealer/garage, which is where it remained for two weeks. Around £700-900 pound was spent, and synchros replaced.

It has now been a month and the same problem has appeared again, I took it to another garage which diagnosed the problem and offered me a fix for £750 (they said it was the synchros). I've taken it back to the first garage to be fixed under warranty, but I have not yet heard back from them. I am wondering what my consumer rights are in this situation?

If you paid £700 - £900 (why don't you know the exact amount?) for the gearbox to be repaired and it has not been repaired then you are entitled to demand either that the repairer makes good the repair or gives you your money back or pays for the gearbox to be properly repaired elsewhere. If he refuses, take the matter to Small Claims at The County Court.
