Should I complain about my car's loose wheel hub?

I bought a Nissan Note six months ago and have done 5000 miles in that time. For a couple of months I noticed a rattle which stopped when the brakes were applied. The supplying main dealer initially thought it was a loose fitting brake caliper and reassured me that there was no danger. However, today, they diagnosed a loose NSF wheel hub which was tightened.

The dealer acted promptly and the work was of course covered under warranty but it has left me feeling unsettled - was it a serious/dangerous defect? Should I complain?

The movement could have caused wear to the hub carrier itself. Write to the dealer principal of the dealership that sold you the car expressing your disquiet and holding him responsible should any further faults result from this within the next five years. Send your letter by post office special delivery, keep a copy, and staple the certificate of posting to it, then keep with your car docs as "a matter of record".
