Can I avoid the new luxury car tax?
I am looking to buy a new Audi Q5 with a petrol engine. I'd like to get the new model, but am worried that it will fall into the new, more expensive road tax system. Should I buy the older version, or is there a way to buy a Q5 and not get stung with the higher tax band?

The question is whether you can get a significant discount on the old Q5. Doubtful that you will be able to get the new one before April 2017, and then it's going to be very basic spec to get it under £40k and not subject to an extra £310pa luxury car tax, bringing the annual tax up to £450.
