What's the best small car for £5000?

Can you recommend a second-hand reliable small car to fit a narrow council garage? Good bumper protection when it is parked on crowded Cambridge streets would help. Budget is £5000.

Probably a first generation Hyundai i10 1.25. Great little cars, and suitably narrow.
