Used car is missing its promised service book

I purchased a 2011 Nissan Qashqai used but from a franchise dealer around three weeks ago. At the time I was promised a service booklet would be forthcoming, but it was in transit from the previous owner.

I called and the salesperson has left the company. I spoke with the manager who called the previous owner and has been told there is no service book.

He said he might be able to track down invoices from the servicer, but I'm doubtful and not sure if this would really be sufficient.

Am I within my rights to ask for some money back? We're happy with the car, but not with the lack of this information...

£1,000 immediate refund for loss of value due to missing service history or hand the car back for a complete refund due to lack of promised service history. These are your rights: www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/consumer-rights/
