What affect does a solid mass flywheel have on the engine?

Does replacing the dual mass flywheel with solid mass flywheel in a 2.0 diesel Toyota Avensis have any effects on the engine?

It does not absorb the torque so puts strain on the transmission, particularly 1st and 2nd gears and, of course, it transmits much more vibration to the cabin.
