Vauxhall Corsa will not start

I have an automatic Corsa 07-plate and it will not start. The AA looked at it and tried to reset it but nothing showing on the diagnostics, so they took it the Vauxhall garage were they have but a diagnostic on the ECU and nothing shown up, they not want to do a full wiring test which again will cost, if they cannot find any fault with that they want to replace the ECU unit at another cost. Is there any known recall for this? Is there anything you can suggest I do?

Yes. Known fault. ECUs can fail because the bulkhead vent well drains become blocked and the vent well floods. It can cost £1,200 to replace. It's wise of all Corsa owners to check that their vent wells are draining properly or they could suffer the same problem. See: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/vauxhall/corsa-d-200.../ There's just a chance that the existing ECU can be removed and dried out (especially the connecting block) and may then be okay.
