Skoda Octavia estate vRS - petrol or diesel?

I have decided to buy an Octavia Estate vRS about 18 months old. I am undecided which would be the best bet - diesel or petrol? I drive about 9000 miles a year with most of my journeys being less than 25 miles.

If you get the latest 2.0 TFSI it will have the latest EA888 engine in which the various problems of that engine have been addressed. Better than a diesel that will need AdBlue.
