Groaning brakes

I have a Nissan Almera Tino 2.0 litre 2002 with a faulty ABS ECU. It does not affect the driving, confirmed by the local garage but when travelling slowly makes a groaning sound which stops as soon as speed is over 10mph. Can you advise the best course of action.

Not very clear. An ABS ECU is a piece of solid state electronics so cannot groan. The ABS distribution pump might. Or the brake discs might for the first minute or two if there is a build up of rust on them. If the ABS light is showing the car will fail its MoT.
