SEAT Leon climate control problems

My 2005 SEAT Leon's climate control has been playing up recently and only blows on re-cycle, not on auto. Could this be related to the outside temperature sensor? I think this is faulty as it's showing showing -15.5 degrees, which is wrong.

Somewhere under the front of the car where it is not affected by the heat of the radiator. But an outside gauge does not affect the climate control. That works by a temp sensor inside the car.
