Which small, spacious car could we buy to keep in France for occasional use?

I am considering buying a car in France to keep in France. It must be a 2-pedal automatic, must have four doors, and must be able to accommodate four people plus a wheelchair. I have thought about a Renault Modus, a Hyundai i20, a Citroen C3 and a Toyota Yaris. I will probably buy new. Which of these is the best buy? Or are there others in the price range? Will the battery flatten if the car is left for two or three months?

The Hyundai i20 or Toyota Yaris would be our recommendations out of that list, as both are reliable and well built, plus offer good value for money. Another worth considering would be the Nissan Note or Skoda Roomster, which are also small but practical and come with automatic gearboxes.

If you're leaving the car for two to three months it could be advisable to disconnect the battery to stop it going flat, or keep a battery booster in the car for when you go back to it.
