Need a small 4x4 car - what do you recommend?
After several years of excellent motoring it’s time to move on and replace my Audi A6 Avant 3.0 SE quattro. I normally make at least a couple of motoring trips to the Alps in the winter and have found the quattro system to be excellent.
I’m looking to reduce my annual mileage with a change of job and see my daily round trip of 60+ miles to work and back see my annual mileage get closer to 10,000 miles rather than the wrong side of 20,000 miles.
I’ve been looking at either a Skoda Yeti or Octavia Scout as well as the soon to be available Seat Leon ST Xperience, in terms of engines, I’ll miss the power of the Audi and have been looking at the 2.0 diesel variants with DSG.
Interestingly, I see the Skoda has higher CO2 emissions and only gets an EU5 rating whereas the SEAT manages EU6. I’d appreciate your thoughts on the choice and whether there are any alternatives you’d suggest I looked at?
I’m also thinking about using a car broker to help negotiate the deal, having not done this before, are there any pitfalls I should be wary of?

The equivalent Skoda Octavia Scout should have a softer ride because it's on smaller wheels with deeper profile tyres, and that also explains the difference in CO2.
