Citroen C1 will no longer get into first gear

We have a 2008 Citroen C1 with 80,000 miles on the clock. It started refusing to go into first gear unless the car was totally stopped with the handbrake up. But now it no longer goes into firs at all. All other gears go in with no problems at all. Any idea what the fault could be?

Damaged transmission. Can't be the clutch or you would not be able to get it into any gear while stationary.
