You may be interested to know that my 2009 1.4TSi Golf has had a new engine put in it, free of charge. Despite the car being slightly over three years old, Volkswagen admitted "serious component failure" on the number one injector and, following some legal warranty advice, I persuaded them to complete the job FoC. My thanks to you HJ and your input, and also to let other readers know that it is worth taking a firm hand with your consumer rights if you truly believe you have a valid case.

It seems that the greater the power of these TSI engines, the greater the problems. And that must be why, for the latest generation of engines, they have changed to turbocharger only TSIs and the EA211 belt cam arrangement instead of the original chain cam with supercharger and turbocharger.
