What should my daughter replace her Mazda Premacy with?

My daughter and son-in-law intend changing their 10-year-old, 59,000 mile Mazda Premacy 1.8 petrol GXi. It has given excellent service, is in first class order and has a full Mazda service history. I am not sure how to advise them on the best way to sell it - can you help? As a replacement they are thinking of a Nissan Qashqai but it concerns me that their mileage will not suit one of the Nissan diesels. Is a new model due soon? And will the range include a more modern petrol engine? Should they wait? If not, what do you suggest they consider as a similar sized family car to replace the Premacy?

Normally, to avoid hassle, I'd suggest BCA's www.sure-sell.info, but I don't think the car will raise enough for this to be worthwhile. For minimum fuss, probably www.webuyanycar.com. The Qashqai has a new generation 1.6DCI 130 diesel engine that should not suffer DPF problems, but there’s a new Qashqai coming soon. I'd also consider a Mazda 5 TS2 2.0i 150 petrol TS2. That is the direct descendant of the Premacy and is an excellent, underrated car with a fine combination of comfort, ride, steering and handling.
