Why did my daughter have to pay to keep her damaged Micra starter motor?
My daughter's Micra recently broke down in Swindon. The AA were called and she was towed to an AA recommended garage. The garage found that the starter motor had burned out and had to be replaced. After she had settled the bill she asked for the damaged part as it was still under warranty. To her shock she was charged £80 + VAT for the damaged starter motor that belonged to her in the first place. I think this is a total rip off.

Except that the 'new' starter motor fitted was an 'exchange' starter motor, and if the old one is not 'exchanged' then it must be paid for.
