Which car do you recommend for a disabled driver with easy access and good performance?

I have just had the lower half of my left leg removed and will have to learn to adapt to life with a disability. It also means disposing of my Jaguar XF Premium Luxury Auto diesel with 1200 miles on the clock, due to access problems, and looking for an alternative which will be easier to enter / exit, have a degree of performance and comfort, and still be enjoyable to drive. We will need four seats and of course room for a wheelchair. I have never previously had to research this type of car, although I have read many recommendations mainly of smaller vehicles, in your column. I would be very grateful if you could make some recommendations for me to look at.

You could take the MPV route, in which case maybe a Ford S-Max 2.0 EcoBoost 240 Powershift, which is virtually a 7-seater sportscar. Too low, then a Galaxy 2.0 EcoBoost 203 Powershift. Or you could look at SUVs. The sky's the limit there, probably starting with a BMW F25 X3 2.0d or 3.0D auto, Lexus RX450h, VW Touareg, Porsche Cayenne or Range Rover.
