What do you think of snow socks?

Do you have a view on the worthiness of Snow Socks as advertised on www.snowchains.co.uk please?

The problem is they are only any use on soft snow, not hard packed snow. Like chains, they have to come off again as soon as you hit cleared surfaces or they get ripped to bits. Thule now does proper chains that can be fitted in 12 seconds to each wheel.
