Buying a used auto estate – Mondeo or Insignia?

I’m in the market for a used automatic estate. I’ve set my sights on a Ford Mondeo or Vauxhall Insignia. I am looking for a car with good economy and towing ability, as I own a 1450kg caravan. I have £10,995- ££11,995 to spend – which would you buy?

I'd go for the Ford Mondeo. Presumably you mean 2.0 TDCI auto? The six-speed torque converter auto should be better for towing then the later Powershift.
