Skoda Yeti wiring fault - should I ask the dealer to pay for repairs?

The near side windows, central locking and electric mirrors on my Skoda Yeti have failed, just six months after the car's three year warranty expired. My Skoda dealer (who sold me the car new and have maintained it ever since) diagnosed multiple fractures in the wires where they pass between the nearside front passenger door and the A pillar. They have offered to pay 75 per cent of the £360 costs, but I feel they should pay it all.

Should I pay my contribution (£91) then go back to Skoda UK to recover the full cost on the basis that the car was not of merchantable quality?

You could have a go, with the proviso that we haven't heard of this before, so we wonder if the dealer/Skoda might counterclaim that the open door had been caught on something and the cables strained.
