I don't want my car written off?

Someone recently reversed into my parked car, denting two of the doors. I reported it to my insurance company and they sent out an assessor last week. I received a call yesterday from the incident management team saying that they want to get the car written off due to the value of the repairs (however I do not believe they have put the value to the other party's insurers).

I don't want the car written off, I want it repaired. Can I force the insurance company to repair it despite them saying it is not economically viable for them to?

You can simply state that the car is your property and under o circumstances do you want it blighted by being written off. Tell them you will accept a financial settlement amounting to the write off value minus the salvage value.
