Audi A3 DSG making odd noises

I had two intermittent banging noises like metal plates for 5 secs, with a loss of power when pulled away after a full steering lock u-turn from a cold start.

Wondering what could be causing the noise? Car is an Audi A3 Sportback 1.4 TFSI DSG.

Too much steering lock against too much torque from the cold engine on cold running cycle.
