Do I need to SORN my car which is being stored in a garage?

Providing I don't drive my car on public roads, am I breaking the law by not having car insurance for a car that is being kept in a private garage? The car is not SORN listed and has valid tax and MOT.

Yes, as from June 2011 you are breaking the law. It either has to be on SORN or continuously insured, one or the other. But SORN is now more user-friendly, as you no longer have to renew it every year without a reminder.
